Skinny Scarves and Fall in New England

Fall in New England has a magical and gentle way of making me feel like I am at a new beginning. Last year's sweaters that I can remember so joyfully storing away after a long winter, somehow seem like exciting additions to my closet. Accessories that I haven't worn in months suddenly seem fresh and different, and I have a blast creating new looks. For some reason, this time of year inspires me to get creative with my wardrobe. It's the season of layers, it's the time of year where you can experiment with colors and patterns before it gets cold and dreary and grays and blacks take over the fashion scene again. So I incite you all, my fashion lover friends, to go out and try new looks.

This weekend I went out by the Lake Champlain with my friend Franki and took some stunning new Chan Luu accessories with me to shoot against the beautiful fall background. Shot after shot and accessory after accessory, the look was soft, fun, serene and sexy and motivated me that much more to have fun with accessories. The skinny scarf is genius; it looks incredible as a scarf, but wear it as a headband or as a necklace and your creative energy shines through. In Olive, this accessory looks great with some of Chan Luu's earthy tone wraps. So have fun, take advantage of (and take part in) the beautiful scenery because this is a perfect fall.

Heavenly Modern Triian Jewelry Lands on Earth

One of the reasons we all flock to pick up our monthly fashion magazines is to gaze at the editors picks, secret fashion stars, and brand new trends to make us feel fabulous. Which color is in? Are we over stated or understated this season? Ultimately though we end up coveting and then buying what catches our eye and screams “us!”

Triian jewelry is new. Triian jewelry creates collections that will definitely catch your eye. Bold and bright pieces that evoke a combination of pale pastel beauty and Tokyo punk rock. Stars we guess will snatch these babies up right away Gwen Stefani, Pink, and Taylor Momsen. Meanwhile can't you just see the long GREEN earrings on Scarlett Johansson or Liv Tyler as they grace the red carpet?

The designer duo, Trisha Brookbank and Brian Burkheart, behind the Triian lab / studio are foremost artists. It's not hard to tell. There choice of color and determined yet casual use of accents such as gold, diamond, topaz, and Swarovski crystals in their work is fresh and fun which after all is what starting new fashion movements is all about.

You should go into the woods today!

After finding the jewelry line DIGBY & IONA, it can be confirmed that we are living in a bold new world of accessories. These are our top three must have picks for the season for any girl looking to add something fantastic to her wardrobe.

Our Top 3 Must Have Pieces by Digby & Iona:

1. The DIGBY & IONA Stump Necklace.

Not only does this necklace look completely original, it is inspired By every girls favorite friend, nature. You can also have it customized and engrave any two sets of initials inside the heart. Which couple do you think would run to the store and buy this if they could? We think character Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) from “The Notebook” would have definitely engraved her big love Noah Calhoun’s (Ryan Gosling) name into her necklace. The DIGBY & IONA Stump Necklace obviously also makes the perfect gift as does this amazing Stump Ring!

2. The DIGBY & IONA Seppie Ring.

Does anyone else remember one of Uma Thurman’s first roles as the ethereal Venus in “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”? She was beautiful, flirty, soft spoken and living under the sea. She definitely would have dug this DIGBY & IONA incredible Seppie ring. The ring shimmers almost off your fingers with London blue diamond eyes & black diamond spots. Love the mysteries of the deep blue, or perhaps you need to be the one who stands out from the crowd or are just a fan of jewelry with intricate detail – either way this is the piece to add to your collection today.

3. The DIGBY & IONA Black Spot Pistol Ring.

Natalie Portman, Drew Barrymore, Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie are all tough cookies that have shown us that they are no strangers to handling a pistol in their films. We know they would love the DIGBY & IONA Black Spot Pistol Ring as it is a wearable miniature pistol with moving trigger and chamber. This ring will have your boyfriends, girlfriends and even grandparents asking to see it again and again. It is just that cool!

The Social Girls

Everyone is all a buzz about the new movie The Social Network. We are taking a big shine to the female cast members. Each has their unique look and style and are definitely something to ‘like’ on your own Facebook wall today. CC Skye is a jewelry line seen on almost every IT girl as they walk down the street. We think these ladies from The Social Network and CC Skye make a great match.

Teen starlet Malese Jow showed her dark side in The Vampire Diaries but everyday this actress is far more down to earth. The singer and actress would be a perfect girl to wear CC SKYE Gold Feather Hoop Earrings, an elegant statement that will add something new to a growing collection of in vogue items.

Being the daughter of composer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton is not the only thing makes Rashida Jones top of the cool ladies to watch list. She is relaxed and fun, and suited to wear items that are a little more out of the ordinary. The original CC SKYE Wide Oxidized Mesh Bracelet is an example of something that can be easily worn by those who want a ‘hero’ bracelet. We can see Rashida Jones and this CC SKYE Mesh Bracelet becoming longtime friends.

Besides her role in The Social Network, Rooney Mara is also know as the actress who has been given the coveted leading role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. She isn’t the girl next door, but the girl next door’s wild-eyed younger sister. The CC Skye Gold Screw Patent Leather Bracelet in Purple is perfect for a smart and practical woman like Rooney Mara and is an ‘IT Girl’ necessity.

Dakota Johnson is the Granddaughter of actress Tippi Hedren, daughter of Melanie Griffith and is truly a style child. Dakota is not unfamiliar with the red carpet and needs a transitional piece of jewelry that works easily for day and night. The CC SKYE Wide Gold and Black Magnetic Deco Cuff Bracelet is a loved cuff that can and should be worn on any occasion.

For the next two weeks you too can get these pieces of jewelry everyone is buzzing about by taking advantage of a big October sale, 25% off. (Use code CCSKYE25 today!)

Who's not to love Chan Luu!

One of my good friends just came back from a shopping spree in New York (lucky gal!) and went to town with all the new Chan Luu. She agreed to show it off for me and I caught these fun photos. I can't help but to love the relaxed but hip look of their wraps and scarves. I think it's my time to head over to Creative Contrast and pick up some of these pretty things!

Inspired by Nature, Dandi Maestre’s Jewelry Embraces Its Wild Beauty

I came across this amazing accessory designer while surfing through fashion sites. Colombian-born, Dandi Maestre has been named an accessories genius and A-list designer by numerous fashion magazines. Her edgy and bold style, inspired by childhood spent in Colombia, brings back raw and exotic splendor. I love her ethnic-inspired aesthetic and an incredible sense of color.

Dandi's cuffs, rings and necklaces are crafted from natural materials and are at times unpredictable. Her captivating jewelry pieces made from raw bull horn, rough amber, emeralds and reclaimed wood are unique, artistic and expressive. All you need is just one of these beautiful creations to complete an outfit and draw attention!
