Getting Wrapped Up In Sir Alistair Rai

I know, I know... scarves are meant for winter, right? Well, if this is your line of thinking, then let me correct you! Beautifully patterned and comfortably lightweight scarves are another of the hot topics in fashion this spring. One designer who knows how to bring to life the epitome of beautiful spring scarves is Kiran Rai, of the fashion lines Sir Alistair Rai and Satya Rai. Sir Alistair Rai is famous for their beautiful, delicate designs as well as bursting bright colors. Every design exudes a playful energy that will make you feel the same the moment you wrap one around you! Sir Alistair Rai scarves and wraps have been seen adorning the necks and shoulders of several well known celebrities, such as Jessica Alba, Mischa Barton and Julia Roberts.

A favorite of mine is the Karma Khari Print Scarf. With its beautiful sunset colors and stunning details, it's sure to brighten up any outfit or dreary day!

Where The Heart Is (at Sir Alistair Rai)

TM-L02-2

As we blissfully await in anxious anticipation for the big V DAY, I think it's safe to say that my heart and mind have currently been all about "pretty in pink" things and lovey-dovey kinds of gestures. I just can't seem to help my sappy, clichéd mentality these past few days. Sorry people. Interestingly though, this highly romantic state of mind is inevitably trickling down to my innate fashion senses, leading me to scope out some hot, must-have pieces for the month of February, which just might add a little loving smile to my closet.

After doing my ritual visits to the Fashion & Style section of the NY Times, I was pleasantly greeted by an enticing article featuring Sir Alistair Rai's sweet new accessories (which I must get my hands on, pronto!). Clearly, at first glance, I've instantly fallen for her Tri Mantra Love Scarf and Honeymoon Clutch. With the subtle, alluring designs of "love" and a heart etched on the corner of each piece, I might have no other option than to make my Valentine's Day purchases as a little gift to myself. For one, I love the laid back ease and colour of Rai's lovely scarf, and the vintage photo element featured on her chic black and white Honeymoon clutch. Thankfully, my trusty shopping fave, Creative Contrast, now has them readily available for me to instantaneously scoop up. Cannot wait!

What's your Valentine's Day Glam? Rocker, or sweet? Or a little of both? This year I'm all about the fun, stylish pieces that are out there. Sir Alistair's Rai scarves have been spotted on the hottest celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan, Vanessa Hudgens, and Jessica Alba. Check out the Gayatri Mantra scarves in Love and Adore. The Kenneth Jay Lane Clover Crystal Heart ring works perfectly with Alexis Bittar's chunky statement necklace and the Kooba Hobo bag in berry tops it all off!

This year, have some fun with your look- check out this season's hottest pieces at creativecontrast.com, where they're offering $5.00 off any purchase with the coupon code VDAY5-- and free shipping worldwide on purchases over 100.00!

Peace, Love, And Good Karma Via Sir Alistair Rai

Bandhini Silk Scarf in Nude

Recently peeping through some of the heavenly sweet Spring 2010 scarves from Sir Alistair Rai's new collection, it's safe to say that I've become an instant fan, considering their take on purely rare to come by designs, which mesh an appealing ethnic aesthetic with positive messages regarding peace and love.

With this is mind, it's great to know that designer Kiran Rai (of Sir Alistair Rai), consistently draws much of her gracious inspiration through her innermost passions, which include qualities such as peace, social progress, truthfulness, love for one another, and an appreciation for her Indian heritage. I do sincerely applaud Rai for her wholehearted approach on exceptional, quality design. And with fashion's much-appreciated celebs like Jessica Alba, Katie Holmes, Drew Barrymore, Mischa Barton, and many others sporting Rai's designs, one could see why her collections have gained an admirable style-crowd.

Reeling my eyes through Rai's new collection, I find myself loving the fresh, calming hues mixed with spot-on, chic ethnic designs that seem to convey a touch of edginess - making Sir Alistair Rai's pieces all the more appealing.

I cannot wait to GRAB one of these beauties myself! They'd pretty much make any lovely outfit of mine a wee bit more interesting - just throw it on loosely around my neck, rock a casual tank, some gold hoops, and go! :)

Here's a roundup of some of Sir Alistair Rai's new pieces - each one maintains their own sense of uniqueness. Check out Creative Contrast and cop one of these Spring season must-haves.

"After all, beauty, truth and love never go out of style. That said, live truthfully." - Sir Alistair Rai

Hot Dupattas! Love em' love em' love em'

As this crazzzy Bollywood film portrays, the dupatta is as must have in India, as it is... in Hollywood. Sir Alistair Rai has some of the best with sequined and crystal laden messeges of wisdom and peace embroidered into the scarves. I think it's really cool one can wear something fashionable that also makes an important statement in these times where wisdom and peace is sooo necessary.
